Sadiola Hill Gold Mine is situated in the west of Mali, 60km west of the city of Kayes.
The first contract was awarded to Moolmans in March 1996 by client, AngloGold Ashanti in partnership with IamGold and the Malian government.
Moolmans delivered mining services such as load and haul, drill and blast, grade control drilling and dewatering, and also assisted the client with three-monthly and yearly planning. Our first-class maintenance service helped us successfully maintain our older fleet of machines in this remote region, where logistics remained a constant challenge. The contract was successfully completed in 2018 when surface operations came to an end.
Moolmans employed over 800 Malians and just less than 30 expatriates. Moolmans established a lasting working relationship with the local community and made a difference in the lives of the Malian people due to the level of training and development that ensured the continuous growth of local employees.
Moolmans has also played a key role in managing the responsible closure of near-surface operations at the Sadiola mine
